Preparations for the Semen Analysis

As for any medical test, a valid semen analysis requires some preparation such as following a few rules.

• Refrain from having sex for 2 to 6 days.
• Minimize strong tea or coffee consumption as well as fatty food throughout the week.
• Don’t drink any alcohol for the whole week.
• Don’t overextend yourself and try to relax as much as possible.
• Rest and get as much sleep as possible the day before sperm collection.

If you come down with any illnesses, the semen analysis should be scheduled for another time since the results could be affected.
